On assignment in Chile in April, 2024, we often visited La Moneda, the Chilean White House while photographing President Gabriel Boric. As I exited the President's office one day I found my partner Elizabeth with Felipe Valenquez in an anteroom and made this quick photo.

Felipe is a member of President Boric's administration and originated the plan to bring us visit to Chile to deliver the photos I had made in 1971 of President Salvador Allende.

Felipe was our daily guide - arranging photo shoots, translating when Duo Lingo failed, providing advice, security, transportation, etc., etc. He had even picked a hotel that was a convenient walking distance from La Moneda.

Felipe was an essential part of my photography in Chile in 2024, and remains our great personal friend. We privately refer to him as the South American Hugh Grant.
