Well-Known People

Athletes, politicians, artists of all kinds—people we recognize on sight. For these subjects, I am usually on assignment from editors or clients whose expectations need to be met. This is my job, and not a chance to meet a new best friend. It is hard to resist being awestruck in the presence of a celebrity, but I remind myself that the famous are not all that different from the rest of us. In other words, I try to photograph well-known people the same way I photograph lesser-known people.
